19 Aug Case Study: Custom Workwear
A leading work boot manufacturer came to us with a brief to develop a workwear range with a difference. They wanted to diversify into the workwear category with a view for becoming a one-stop-shop for workwear and accessories for their industry.
The design of the product needed to align with the values, look and feel of the company at a global level. This was a difficult proposition with the reference point being footwear and aiming to translate their brand into apparel.
The Weartek Solution
We went to work understanding the client fully in terms of where they sat in their existing market place. For us to enable a successful market entry, we needed to get it right first go. Design features, fabric characteristics and content, colour, fit, usage, lifecycle and retail price expectation all needed to be evaluated and accommodated. Many rounds of fabric trials were followed by many rounds of garment prototypes that were tested by end users to make sure that nothing had been missed.
The client launched the workwear range throughout Australia & New Zealand with great success and buy-in from retailers and end users alike, in what is a heavily occupied market. Reorder production is about to get under way to ensure sufficient stock supply and additional styles are under development to broaden their offering.
