Sustainability
At Weartek®, we are committed to contributing to a better world through our own sustainability initiatives. We strive to lead by example and take action in living our beliefs.
A Circular Economy
Weartek’s commitment to carbon neutrality goes beyond just offsetting emissions. Our supply chain is broken down into each component, allowing us to manage the carbon footprint at every stage.
Our manufacturing partners are accredited against international environmental standards, including carbon accounting and our partners for decommissioning in Australia also meet these standards with a carbon analysis already completed.
We believe that this meticulous attention to detail is crucial in fulfilling our responsibility to the environment and reducing our carbon footprint.
What does it do?
Our durable designs, premium components and expert craftsmanship are all part of our effort to shift habits towards sustainable consumption. There’s no such thing as “away” when it comes to waste, so we encourage customers to return their used Weartek garments to us for responsible disposal. It’s our way of taking full accountability for the entire lifecycle of our products.
Weartek takes responsibility for the products it makes by offering a Product Reclaim promise. We believe that it is our duty to deal with our products once they are no longer in use and our commitment to sustainable responsibility sets a new standard in the industry.
Why do we need it?
Globally, 85% of textiles end up in landfills, equivalent to filling Sydney Harbour every year. Australians are among the biggest contributors, with an average of nearly 15kg of apparel purchased per person annually.
We can change that & we can start right now.
